Through our partnership with NNNCo, 42-24 enables Tasmanian businesses and government agencies to deploy, scale and generate value from IoT applications with our enterprise-grade LoRaWAN® communications network and IoT Platform.
What is LoRaWAN®
LoRaWAN® is a Low Power, Wide Area (LPWA) networking protocol that wirelessly connects battery-operated ‘things’ to the internet in regional, national or global networks. It meets key IoT requirements such as bi-directional communication, end-to-end security, mobility and localisation services.
NNNCo
NNNCo is Australia’s longest-running LoRaWAN® network operator with a carrier licence, and offer a scalable, enterprise-grade Internet of Things (IoT) network service and platform.
We’ve partnered with NNNCo, combining our extensive Tasmanian telecommunications network and experience with NNNCo’s strong IoT network industry capability.
The open LoRaWAN protocol offers an efficient, flexible and economical solution to real-world problems, while complementing other network technologies.

IoT Connectivity: Where LPWANs Fit

Key Features
LoRaWAN® Network
Ultra Low Power | LoRaWAN® devices are optimised for a battery life of up to 15 years (battery life dependent on uplink frequency). |
Low Cost | Low connectivity, installation and lifetime costs. |
Long Range | Long Range and deep indoor coverage. Coverage can be extended at very low cost. |
Secure | LoRaWAN®™ utilises two layers of security: one for the network, and one for the application. The LoRaWAN® specification uses embedded end-to-end 2 x AES 128 encryption of data. |
Multi Usage | High capacity, multi-tenant public network. |
Open Standards | Global open standard technology supported by a massive open multi-vendor ecosystem. |
Scalable | Secure central control of multiple devices. Over 150 million devices deployed globally. |
Coverage | Extensive coverage in Tasmania and expanding to meet customer requirements. |
LoRaWAN® Band | AS923 |
Default Device Message Limit (daily) | 96 (communications are two-way, and increased message limits are available.) |
Service Availability | 99.95% |
Service Credits | Where the Service Level is not met in the availability measurement period, the Customer is entitled to a credit of 5% of the monthly fee. |
IoT Platform
N2N-DL | NNNCo’s N2N-DL aggregation platform:
|
N2N-VIS | A single dashboard (N2N-VIS) can present data from all your applications and various sources for fast and effective workflows, actions and decision making. |
